kids

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of god belongs to such as thee.”

Mark 10:13-16

Your child matters!

Here at Reunion Church, we believe all kids have value and purpose! No matter what, we want to create a space where they can belong and thrive! Each Sunday there is a team of volunteers providing a safe and fun environment for them to learn to trust and follow Jesus in practical ways. Additionally, we want to assure you that no matter what special need they may have or trauma they’ve endured, every child is an important part of our Reunion family and will always belong here.

A few key values

  • We are family.

It takes a tribe to raise a child. We believe it is essential to support one another as parents and caregivers, and to give grace to kids as they are learning, growing and facing their unique circumstances. This is also why we invite the kids to worship alongside the rest of the church before they head off and take part in the kids shenanigans!

  • It starts with the parents.

We only get one hour a week your kids. And, with the crazy weekend schedules of most people… it’s even less than that.

So, obviously we want to use that time to help them understand who Jesus is and how to follow him. But more importantly, we want to help equip the parents with the resources they need to better disciple their children on a daily basis!

  • Special Needs and Trauma Informed.

We know there are parents who have had moments of feeling ostracized by the church because their kid doesn’t fit the mold. At Reunion we want to fit the mold around your child. In fact, there is no mold. We simply believe Jesus would go after every single child. We are a church that makes every effort to do the same.

What to expect.

  • Show up to church… Sugar your kids up on some donuts and scones (or just yourself).

  • All kids 3 yrs and under can be dropped off with volunteers at Action Academy right across from the alley.

  • Elementary kids attend the first part of the service to sing with their parents or caregiver.

  • After worship, we dismiss kids to the tasting room next door for their own kids experience.

  • Parents or caregivers must pick the kids up after service.

Sometimes it is easier to hear the ”why” and “what” straight from the source. Check out this video below of Michelle sharing her heart on why we do what we do at Reunion for kids and families. It is a great resource for parents and essential for volunteers.
